Family, etc.

I’ve had some computer problems so couldn’t get on yesterday or earlier today to write.  It is too late to write anything very interesting, but I got to see most of my family this weekend.  It was great.  The only bad thing is we didn’t have more time together.  Everyone (almost) was back for a big reunion and I think it went rather well.  I’m glad I went.

I’ve been sick the last couple of days.  It seems to be in my chest and sinuses mostly.  Also achy all over which is no fun at all.

My brother has encouraged me to write a blog and he’s also encouraged me to write about our mother from my perspective.  When I was younger I wanted my mom to write about her life but she never would.  I wish I had taken notes on the things she did tell me.  I’ve decided to attempt it and it will have to be largely fictionalized because a lot of the people who could tell me facts are no longer living.  So I will make up the parts I don’t know.  I guess it can truly be called fiction then, can’t it?  I’ve started writing it.  I’m working on the prologue or foreward first–whatever you want to call it.  I am using real names so I can keep the characters straight, but when I am done I will change everyone’s name  for anonymity’s sake.  I will try to write at least a bit every day, but I’m not 100% sure I can keep that pace, I will try though. 

I need to do some research on what was going on back then and try to make it historically accurate.  I will also need to look at the family book to get some of the dates of birthdays, etc.

It is an exciting prospect and I have no idea how long an endeavor like this will take, but I imagine it will take quite a bit as I will probably go back and re-write and polish stuff as I go along.

Anyway, I’m off to bed for the night.
